In the note at the end of the service you will read:
In deciding what form a set service of Holy Communion should take, three factors need to be weighed: relevant biblical teaching, insights from the Christian heritage of worship, and the formation effect on worshippers of ritual repetition. The purpose of liturgy is to glorify God and to give its users shape as glorifiers of God.
The liturgy group seeks specific feedback from those using the service. We are not seeking feedback on the order / sequence of the service, but on the form of words used, assuming the liturgy is used exactly as written. It will not be possible to respond to all feedback.
We ask for feedback covering the following questions.
1) To what extent does this new service achieve or fail to achieve the high goals stated in the note at the end of the service?
2) What evidence is there of any benefit to your congregation in using this new service?
3) Are there sentences / words which might be expressed with more simplicity, flow, elegance and verve?
4) (For clergy only)
a. How long, and in what contexts have you used the service?
b. How clear and useful are the instructions (rubrics) for the service?
c. In what contexts would you use this service on a regular basis?
d. Please give any suggestions on how to improve the instructions for ease of use.
