As Anglicans we believe that the Church is interconnected. We are more alive to Christ and we are more alive to one another!
Because of the geography of the Diocese of Algoma, the only way to make that interconnectedness practical is through deanery life. Although there are constitutional responsibilities attached to the deanery councils, the possibilities and opportunities go much further. As each deanery council shapes the interconnected life of the sister churches in the deanery, these are appropriate agenda items.
1. Support for the deanery youth network.
2. Social issues and action.
3. Church camping.
4. Deanery festival planning.
5. Workshops for church school teachers.
6. Support for PWRDF activities.
7. Shared mission and evangelism.
8. Establishment of a Planned Giving Team and Program. Support for the deanery ACW.
9. Support for a deanery lay reader structure and training. Idea sharing opportunities.
10. Shared training of visitors.
11. Shared training of wardens, treasurers and parish officers.
12. Development of ecumenical relationships.
