Website template – Designed to be maintained by parish volunteer
Scott Hunt has designed a fully CMS-enabled template for use by parishes with computer-savvy parish staff or volunteers willing to commit to regularly updating the website. Scott’s proposal – which also includes a link to his fully-functional template – is here. It includes low-cost training for parish webmasters and occasional professional support at very good rates. Again, the template is adaptable to your needs.
Both Daniel and Scott bring a high degree of professionalism and creativity to their work – and have provided us with excellent websites at rates far below what they charge other clients. We are very grateful for their ministry-mindedness and willingness to serve the Lord in this way.
Why ANiC invested in having these templates created
The recent Anglican Church in North America provincial assembly was told that, in the San Francisco Bay area, 80% of people looking for a church will check it out online before deciding if they will visit in person. In effect, the parish website is becoming the church’s front door. We need to pay careful attention to how we present our parishes online so our ministry is not hindered in our communities.
Because of the growing importance of websites and because most ANiC parishes need new or improved sites, ANiC has taken steps to make it easy for you to create and maintain a “winsome website witness” by commissioning the creation of two parish website templates. By ANiC paying the “front end” development costs for these website templates, the costs to parishes is dramatically reduced. If you choose to take advantage of these templates, you will receive an attractive, informative, professionally developed website for a fraction of the cost – several hundred dollars rather than several thousand dollars.
While not all ANiC parishes have websites, most do. Many of these existing sites, however, do not present the parish, its ministries, or its people in the most effective way. Please consider whether one of these templates would be a cost-effective way to improve your church’s online presence.
Both templates can be adapted to your needs – allowing for unique banners and parish-specific text and photos. Also, some churches may not need all the menu options. However, the more extensive your changes to the basic layout, the greater your costs.
