  Bishop Albert Vun

Bishop Albert Vun, who was consecrated in 2006, is the bishop of the Diocese of Sabah in Malaysia, a diocese with more than 300 active congregations and a membership of 90,000 to 100,000. The average Sunday attendance is 30,000, and the number is growing. The Diocese has 65 clergy and 80 licensed pastors, evangelists and missionaries. Canon Michael Green called the Diocese one of the Asian Tigers for Church Growth.

While rector of St Patrick’s Church (Tawau), Bishop Albert saw the church grow from 700 to 4000 members between 1990 and 2005. And to accommodate growth and expansion, the House of Prayer for All Nations with a seating capacity of 2500 was completed in October 1997. This church has since grown to become a mission-sending church with members trained and equipped in areas of prayer and intercession, evangelism, deliverance, healing, counselling and leadership.

Presentation topics

1. The Mandate to Grow the Church – The necessary ingredient for church growth does not depend on a methodology. Rather, it focuses on a dynamic relationship with God.

2. The Dynamic Structure of a Church with Cell Groups – Why churches with cell groups are effective and how to transition into this kind of church. Also, how to mobilize the church's resources for growth.

3. How to build effective Cell Groups – Not all cell groups are effective; some are dysfunctional. How to grow healthy and growing cell groups.
