Bishop Grant LeMarquand and Dr Wendy LeMarquand
Horn of Africa
My dear brother and sister,
I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news in your letter today of 28 Ethiopians Christians brutally murdered in Libya at the hands of Islamic State-affiliated terrorists.
Please extend our love to your people. Be assured of our prayers for you and the Church in Ethiopia. As Christ is lifted up through the faithfulness of these His servants, may He draw all men to Himself. And may God use the blood of His saints to strengthen His people.
As you share in Christ’s suffering, I pray and you and your people, like the Apostle Paul, will come to more fully know Him and the power of His resurrection, becoming like Him in His death. (Philippians 3:10)
We grieve with you and pray for God’s richest blessing on you and your ministry. May He protect you and pour out His Spirit upon you and your flock – and all the “people of the cross” – in Egypt, North Africa and the Middle East.
Because He lives,
The Right Reverend Charles Masters
