The Right Reverend Rennis Ponniah
Diocese of Singapore
Church of the Province of South East Asia
My dear brother,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Like so many, I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the devastating earthquake in Nepal last Saturday – a disaster compounded by the onset of monsoon season.
Please be assured of my prayer support. And through the Anglican Relief and Development Fund Canada (ARDFC) our diocese is collecting donations from our parishes and members to help with your work bringing relief to those most in need in Nepal.
On behalf of the Anglican Network in Canada, please extend our love to the Reverend Lewis Lew and his colleagues working in Nepal and assure them of our prayers as they minister in this hurting country. As Christ is lifted up through the faithfulness of His servants, we pray that He will draw the Nepalese to Himself. And from the rubble may the unshakeable Church of Christ be built.
I look forward to seeing you, brother, in a few weeks at the installation of the Right Reverend Melter Jiki Tais as the sixth diocesan bishop of Sabah and then to be with you for your own Diocesan Synod along with Bishop Stewart Ruch.
Because He lives,
+Charlie
