19 October 2012
Dear Anglican Network in Canada parishes, clergy and parishioners,
Some of you will have received a letter from our Primate and province – Archbishop Robert
Duncan of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) – in which he provides a wonderful
account of the work going on in and through the ACNA. For those of you who haven’t
received his emailed letter, you can see it online here. You will find it most encouraging.
At the end of the letter Archbishop Bob appeals for individual members to support the work
of the ACNA by including the province in their year-end giving. For Canadians, this is a little
more complex due to the tax regulations involved. For those of you for whom tax
regulations are not an issue or who do not need a charitable receipt for income tax
purposes, if God leads you to support the ACNA, please do give generously.
For those of us for whom Canadian tax receipts are a consideration, please consider
directing your gift to the Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC). Our diocese, like our province,
still depends in part on the generous gifts of individuals – in addition to the faithful tithing
of our parishes – in order to meet our budget. While the ANiC has recovered somewhat
from the shortfall experienced in 2010-2011 (that caused us to cut salaries and
discretionary spending), we still are not fully in the black.
So, I echo Archbishop Bob’s appeal: “…we continue to rely on the gifts of individuals, like
you, in order to fully fund our budget… I ask you to please consider a year-end gift…”
In gratitude for God’s priceless gift of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
The Right Reverend Donald F Harvey
Moderator, Anglican Network in Canada
