My dear Sisters and Brothers:
Greetings!
I am certain that you have been deeply moved by the terrible situation in the Philippines
resulting from last week's deadly typhoon. I also expect that members of your parish may be
asking if it is possible to contribute to relief efforts through ANiC and ARDFC.
If you have read this week's Newsletter you will have noticed that this matter is well covered in
the first news item on page 1, with a link on how donors can respond immediately to this
desperate situation through ARDFC. The process is extremely user friendly and completely
reliable.
Furthermore, every dollar we give in this manner will receive matching funds from the Canadian
Government.
This need is made all the more personal to us because of our brothers and sisters in our Filipino
Congregation of Holy Trinity in Edmonton.
The main purpose of this memo is to draw your attention to this item in the Newsletter and for
you to both make the need known to your congregations and how they may go about
responding in a financial manner.
I also call upon every parish to uphold the victims of this disaster in fervent prayer, especially on
Sunday, November 17th.
In His Name,
The Right Reverend Donald F Harvey
Bishop and Moderator
