“Pursuing Intimacy with God” seminar at St George’s (Burlington), Nov 26-27 ...
The Rev Garth Hunt, ANiC’s national prayer coordinator, will lead a “Pursuing Intimacy with God” prayer seminar at St George’s (Burlington) beginning Friday evening, November 26 and continuing on Saturday November 27. Full information on this free seminar is on the St George’s website.


Ordinations ...
Bishop Stephen Leung has the joy of ordaining Paul Seung-Choi Leung to the (transitional) diaconate at Good Shepherd Anglican Church (Vancouver) on December 5 at 2:30pm. Following his ordination, Paul will serve as curate at Good Shepherd (Vancouver).

On November 28, at 4pm Bishop Don Harvey will ordain Jane Manary Parent to the diaconate at St Luke’s Pembroke. Jane is the wife of the Rev Tim Parent, rector of St Luke’s.

Please pray for Paul and Jane as they prepare for ministry. All are welcome to the ordinations.



Four deacons to be ordained to the priesthood in Vancouver area ...
On November 21, Bishops Don Harvey and Trevor Walters will ordain the Revs Keith Ganzer, Aaron Roberts, Doug Beattie, and David McElrea to the priesthood. This service will be at 3pm at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond, BC. See photos.


New Brunswick meeting series planned ...
Bishop Charlie Masters will speak in five communities in New Brunswick in mid-November. These sessions are intended to provide information on ANiC and ACNA and explain how ANiC church plants – which are fully Anglican, biblically faithful, evangelizing and nurturing – can contribute to the cause of the gospel in New Brunswick. In addition to the presentation, these sessions will also includea time of worship and as well as fellowship over tea, coffee and refreshments.

Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali to speak in Ottawa, November 5-7 ...

ANiC clergy day – November 3 ...
All ANiC clergy are invited – and active clergy are expected – to attend our annual clergy day in Ottawa, the day prior to synod. This will be an important time of ministry and spiritual refreshment. Clergy can register online for the clergy when registering for ANiC’s synod by simply responding in the affirmative to the question about attending Clergy Day.

Time: November 3, 10am – 4pm
Cost: No charge for the day
Meals: Lunch and refreshments are included (Other meals will be at your own expense.)
Location: Travelodge Conference Centre, 1376 Carling Ave, Ottawa, Ontario (the synod hotel)


Christ Awakening for Mission Worldwide in Montreal, October 1-3 ...
Christ Awakening Montreal – co-sponsored by the Billy Graham Center and the Isaiah 40 Foundation – is slated for October 1-3 at Trinity Pentecostal Church, 1050 Shevchenko Blvd, LaSalle. Bishop Charlie Masters, who is on the organizing team, encourages all those who can to attend. Main talks will include: Raising up the whole church for ministry; Gaining the heart of Christ; Moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit; and Global unity of the Church for mission.

Friday, October 1, will feature a free youth night for ages 12-18 from 6:30-9:30pm. It will be an evening of worship, Christ-centred teaching, and prayer. Participants include local music groups, a former Nashville recording artist, an energetic and entertaining youth evangelist from Mississippi, and a Cirque du Soleil-trained drama teacher and actor.
Pre-registration is required. The conference will be in English with simultaneous translation into French and Spanish. See the website for more information and register instructions.



Ordinations planned at Holy Trinity, Marlborough, MA ...
The Rev Andrew Carlson and the Rev Christopher Logan will be ordained to the priesthood on September 29 at Holy Trinity. Bishop Don will officiate, accompanied by Bishop Charlie.

Bishop Don reports that, prior to these ordinations, he and Bishop Charlie will attend a retreat for New England clergy. They then will make Episcopal visits, including the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, to each of Holy Trinity’s four church plants in New England, culminating in the ordinations on the Feast of St Michael and All Angels. Following the ordinations in Marlborough, the bishops will travel to Montreal for the “Christ Awakening”.



Pursuing Intimacy with God” family weekend – Montreal, September 24-26 ...
St Timothy’s Anglican Bible Church (Montreal) is hosting a prayer seminar at Parkside Ranch, September 24-26. The weekend, entitled “Pursuing Intimacy with God”, will be led by ANiC’s national prayer coordinator, the Rev Garth Hunt. Primate of Southeast Asia to visit Vancouver, September 18-19 ...
The Anglican Relief and Development Fund Canada is bringing Archbishop John Chew (Southeast Asia) to Vancouver for the weekend of September 18-19. All events are at the Anglican Network Church of the Good Shepherd (Vancouver). The planned schedule of events for Archbishop Chew’s visit are:

Saturday, Sept 18
Morning – by-invitation-only meeting with the clergy and leaders of ACNA and our partners
Afternoon –gathering open to all focused on mission in the Global South
Evening – celebration banquet open to all

Sunday, Sept 19, 11am – Archbishop Chew will preach at Good Shepherd

Church planting workshop, Delta, BC, Sept 9, 2010
All clergy and lay people seriously interested in church planting are invited.

Youth leadership conference ...
The annual youth leadership training conference at St John’s Vancouver is slated for August 30 – September 2. The conference is aimed at 17-23 year old youth/college aged leaders or potential leaders and is designed to grow disciples, teach leadership skills and Biblical strategies, and help young people gain confidence in teaching the Bible. The speaker is Steve Jaffrey of Youthsurge Australia.


Ordination planned ...
On Sunday, August 29 at 2:30pm the Rev Jess Cantelon will be ordained to the priesthood at the Church of the Good Shepherd, St Catharines, ON. Please pray for Jess and his family as he prepares for ordination. All are invited to this service. Until recently, Jess served as a deacon at Christ Church Jerusalem.


ACNA-wide Ultreya weekend ...
A very special weekend – open to everyone! – of celebration, worship, prayer, reconnecting, networking and learning.

Also, the Rev David Robinson will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Charlie Masters at St Albans in Ottawa on June 19 at 3pm.

Church of the Good Shepherd (Vancouver, BC) revival conference ...
Good Shepherd is hosting a revival conference entitled, “A Closer Walk with Thee”. The speaker is Pastor Afshin Javid of Vancouver Christian Fellowship (North Vancouver) who was a devout follower of Islam and member of Hezbollah until he met Jesus Christ while in prison. He is now a passionate evangelist and follower of Jesus.
