November 10-11, 2011 in Durham, NC for church planters, pastors, associate
pastors, worship pastors, artists, liturgists and those interested in the

Vancouver concert, November 6 ...
Two Vancouver-area
ANiC parishioners are collaborating with the Vancamerata Chamber Ensemble to present
Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi – which is billed as “a beautiful baroque opera about the love of Mary the mother of Christ watching
Christ die on the cross”. The opera features baroque soloists Pauline Hale, of St
John’s Vancouver and Angela Witzke-Larson of St John’s Richmond. It will be performed
on November 6 at 3pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 320 E 15th Avenue,
Vancouver – which is also the new home of ANiC’s St Matthias and St Luke’s.
Please come and bring your pre-Christian friends to enjoy good music which could

Three Bible-in-a-Day
seminars to be held in BC ...
The Bible-in-a-Day
seminar gives a coherent overview of the Bible in one short day and helps attendees
grasp the “big picture” of Scripture – the breadth and depth and unifying
story of the 66 books of the Bible. The seminar will help you get more out of
sermons and Bible study and equip you to better explain the story of the Bible
to others.

23-25 – Cantonese Revival Conference with Dr Stephen Lee, on the topic
of “I Believe in the Holy Catholic Church: Church Doctrine of
the Gospel”. Services are from 8-9:30pm on both Friday and Saturday and from 11am
-12:30pm on Sunday.
October 1, 7:30pm – Short-term
mission trip reports. Both the Thailand and China teams will report on their missions this past summer. Pot-luck at 6pm,
team reports at 7:30pm.
October 22, 7:30pm – From Thy
Bounty fundraising concert. The musical program will include instrumental, voice
and choral music. As well, there will be presentations by members of two short-term
mission teams which visited the projects for which
money is being raised. Good Shepherd hopes to raise $20,000 for:

partnership with the Anglican Church in Thailand. |

An Anglican 4th Day (ACNA’s version of Cursillo) Ultreya is planned for St Peter’s by the Park, Hamilton
on Friday, September 23 at 7pm. This regional gathering, under the leadership
of the Rev St Clair Cleveland, is open to all Christians. For more information,

is a term used in the Cursillo movement for Christian gatherings for
inspiration, fellowship and mutual encouragement in your walk with God.
Maine, New England, September 22-25, ANiC traditional silent clergy retreat ...
Bishop Don will lead
a three-day retreat for clergy serving ANiC in New England. There are
four spots open to any ANiC other clergy who would like to attend. The retreat
runs from Thursday afternoon, Sept 22 through Sunday morning, Sept 25 and will
be held at a beautiful Franciscan guest house & monastery, 26 Beach Avenue, Kennebunk, Maine. There are sandy beaches (only a .5 mile walk away), walking trails
along the river’s edge, and 60+ acres of land to explore. The Daily Office and
the Holy Eucharist will be offered each day. Cost is still to be

ACNA’s Simeon
Fellowship annual gathering, September 12-14 in Dallas ...
The Simeon Fellowship is billed as “a peer to peer fellowship of rectors
to facilitate and encourage Gospel-centered Anglican church planting throughout
North America by emulating the life and ministry of Charles Simeon. It is a brotherhood comprised of men
who are at the forefront of raising up new leaders and catalyzing new works in
their own context.” ANiC clergy are encouraged to investigate this
fellowship to see if it might be an encouragement to them. A gathering for Simeon Fellows is planned for
September 12-14 in Dallas. Hugh Halter is the featured speaker.

to learn, fellowship, and break bread together at the Lord's Table. The Anglican 4th Day (A4D) movement is an initiative of the Anglican Church in North America and is
dedicated to bring people to Christ, encourage Christian fellowship, and
nurture godly leaders. It is modeled on the well-known Cursillo movement.
New ANiC clergy ordained ...
July 23 at 7pm, Vancouver, BC – Bishop Stephen Leung will ordain the Rev Paul Seung-Choi Leung to the priesthood and Mr Anson Ann to the (transitional) diaconate at the Anglican Network Church of the Good Shepherd. Both Paul and Anson will be placed in curacy at Good Shepherd.
June 24, Richmond, BC – The Rev Dr Michael Dobson and the Rev Ben Roberts were both ordained by Bishop Trevor Walters to the diaconate. The Rev Dobson now serves St Andrew’s (Delta, BC) as part-time minister, effective July 1.

Short-term mission trips to China
and Thailand ...
ANiC parishioners from across Canada are welcome to consider joining the two Asian Mission short-term mission trips to China and Thailand – or participating through prayer and/or financial support. The two missions are:

A mission to support the work of the Anglican Church in Thailand, with a focus on ministry to Karen refugees on the Thai-Myanmar border, is tentatively set for June 6-20. |
• |
A mission to work with disabled children and encourage their families in Changsha, China is tentatively set for June 30-July 14. |
The application deadline is February 26. More details are available on the Asian Mission website. Approximate participant cost for each trip is expected to be around $3000. (Asian Mission is a ministry of ANiC under the episcopal leadership of Bishop Stephen Leung.)

in a Day workshops offered in BC ...
The Bible
in a Day workshop is coming to Christ the King (Victoria, BC) on May 28, and to
Saint Matthew’s (Abbotsford) on June 11. This course provides an excellent overview of the Bible allowing participants

Ontario youth retreat, June 10-11 ...
St George’s, Burlington is holding another weekend youth retreat on June 10-11 at Faith Mission. It is open to youth from any church, 12-18 years old. The weekend will consist of great worship, relevant sharing, fun outdoor activities, hangin’ out with old and new friends, and excellent food! Our retreat theme is “No Turning Back”, and our youth will be encouraged to deepen their commitment to following Jesus without being compromised by our increasingly secular culture. Some of our St George’s youth will be confirmed, Sunday June 12, so this will be a great extra preparation time for them. Church of the Epiphany & St Peter by the Park (Hamilton, ON) are co-hosting a Palm Sunday parish family event, billing as a “time of fun, food and fellowship”. Vina Sweetman and the Isaiah 40 Foundation team will hold a Healing of the Whole Person seminar March 3-5 – Thursday and Friday evenings, and all day Saturday. If you are interested in being involved in an Asian Mission in Canada mission trips to the Far East, there is an “initial interest” meeting on January 30 at Church of the Good Shepherd (Vancouver, BC) at 2pm. ANiC members from across Canada are welcome to get involved – by going, praying for and supporting the endeavor.
