General Synod in Halifax in 2010
Plans were laid for a Federation presence at General Synod in Halifax in 2010. For the last three General Synods we have maintained a strong presence, standing beside orthodox delegates and providing talking points and strategies for them as well as wonderful hospitality. All this under the leadership once again, of our Chair, the Rev. Brett Cane. Doug Grisim from St. Aidan’s, Winnipeg and Murray Henderson will be going to Halifax shortly to lay the groundwork, and to enlist the help of the Federation community in the Maritimes. Please pray for this endeavor.

Essentials Nova Scotia meeting – September 12
Essentials Nova Scotia meets September 12, 10am – 12noon, at Trinity Church, Halifax (321 Main Ave), to hear a presentation on the “Agape Project” – an initiative promoted by Anglican Essentials Federation which is designed to both communicate the Gospel as well as explore authentic Anglican Christianity in ways that reach younger Anglicans.

Please join The Rev. Dr. Murray Henderson, Vice-Chair of Anglican Essentials Federation for a meeting to be held at St. George’s Round Church,
2222 Brunswick St., Halifax, Friday, July 10 at 7:00 PM.
Mr. Doug Grisim of St. Aidan's church Winnipeg" will be on hand as well. Doug and Murray will be meeting with us to update us about the great initiative the Essentials Federation will be taking at General Synod 2010 here in Halifax. Murray will take time to talk about where things stand both nationally and internationally, and how many of us can get or stay involved.
Essentials has been present at recent General Synods to promote the Essentials viewpoint on a number of topics, including, of course, same sex blessings. We'll be back in action at GS 2010. Rev. Henderson has headed up the Motions and Strategy Committee, which coaches our delegates on Motions of concern. Our Committee will once again provide delegates with "talking points" on critical motions coming before Synod.
Doug has headed up the Essentials Hospitality Suite. We will again be renting space near the site of General Synod, and will be offering hospitality to delegates. This has proved a great way to bring people together, and to provide a focal point for our delegates. Part of our purpose is to book a suitable site for our Suite for next year.
We are looking for faithful Anglicans from Nova Scotia and the Maritimes in general to help us with this great venture. The overall initiative is headed up by the Rev. Brett Cane. The importance of our being present at General Synod can't be over-estimated - and we need many volunteers to make it as successful this time round as it has been in the past.
“So,” says Rev. Henderson, “we look forward to sharing all this with you on Friday evening, July 10.”

Niagara Essentials conference on Youth and the Church – June 6
Niagara Essentials is hosting a conference on June 6. Dr John Bowen will explore why youth leave the church and why they come back. There will be afternoon workshops and a prayer and praise fellowship. A light lunch is included.

Federation Meeting in Toronto, February 2-3, 2009
Please pray for our next Anglican Essentials Federation meeting in Toronto. The meeting will be held at Wycliffe College – 5:30 pm Tuesday February 3rd to 5:00 pm Wednesday February 4th.
