  GAFCon, 22 - 29 June 2008

The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCon) in Jerusalem, 22 - 29 June 2008 was an important milestone in the history of the Anglican Communion.
It included the Jerusalem Declaration, a theological statement that forms the basis of unity among orthodox Anglicans at the Global Anglican Future conference.
It called for the formation of a new Orthodox Anglican Province in North America to encompass Anglican churches that have realigned out of the Anglican Church of Canada and the Episcopal Church (USA) due to theological and moral disagreements.
And it established a new structure – a Primates Council of the GAFCon movement – to begin to bring order to the existing chaos in the Communion and to authenticate confessing Anglican jurisdictions, clergy and congregations and to advance the mission of the Church.

Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans
The Global Anglican Future Conference established a Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans – “a fellowship of Anglicans, including provinces, dioceses, churches, missionary jurisdictions, para-church organisations and individual Anglican Christians whose goal is to help reform, heal and revitalise the Anglican Communion and expand its mission to the world.” All who is the basis of our fellowship.” All who assent to the Jerusalem Declaration and support the goals of the FCA are invited to join.

The Way, the Truth and the Life
– An excellent reference and discussion book prepared for GAFCon delegates prior to the conference.
