Roman Catholic Church extends invitation to Anglicans in Canada
In addition to the disaffected members of the Church of England who have moved to Rome, the Church of England Newspaper reports that the invitation from Rome has been extended to Anglicans in CanadaThe Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto has invited Anglicans interested in “the implementation of Anglicanorum Coetibus”, by the Roman Catholic Toronto Archbishop Thomas Collins; appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to serve as the Vatican’s “delegate” to Canadian Anglicans seeking to join the Pope’s Personal OrdinariateHowever, the article notes that, "further secessions from the ACC are likely to go to the Anglican Network in Canada—part of the Anglican Church in North America—rather than to the ordinariate.. Following the [Anglican Catholic Church of Canada's] decision to accept the pope’s invitation, 12 of the church’s 42 congregations withdrew rather than go over to Rome."

Diocese of Fort Worth will appeal trial court decision
The Diocese of Fort Worth has announced its intention to appeal the trial court decision which ruled in favour of The Episcopal Church’s (TEC) retention of the diocesan church properties According to the announcement the Hon. John Chupp, who ruled in this matter, signed an order drafted by TEC attorneys, but struck out points with which he did not agree Ultimately the ruling was made in favour of TEC on the basis that the Anglican Church is a hierarchical structure In November 2008, Fort Worth withdrew from TEC as an entire diocese The grounds for appeal state,
“the plaintiffs have offered no evidence, either in the courtroom or in their voluminous filings, supporting their claim that the Diocese was not entitled to withdraw from The Episcopal Church,”  “Nor have they demonstrated a legal right to our property, which is protected by Texas statutes regulating trusts and non-profit corporations.”

Christ Church Savannah: “the case to end all cases”
In the American Anglican Council (AAC) newsletter, special note has been made of Christ Church Savannah as “the case to end all cases” in the state of Georgia In a press release of Christ Church Savanna, David Reeves, governing board chairman of Christ Church said,
“We are gratified that the Supreme Court will hear our appeal.. Since this case will have ramifications for all Georgia churches, regardless of denomination, we think it is appropriate for the highest court in our state to rule on these issues”.

Also according to the press release, two amicus briefs (friend of the court briefs) have been filed by The Presbyterian Lay Committee (PLC) and The American Anglican Council (AAC), asserting that,
“this ruling will have an impact on all Georgia churches, regardless of denomination, which assume they have local ownership and control of their properties.”

Growing Deanery of the Convocation of Confessing Anglicans (CANA)
In a recent press release, ACNA announced that on Jan 15th, three chaplains were ordained as priests and one as a transitional deacon by CANA Bishop Martyn Minns at The Falls Church, Va Bishop Minns expressed great joy in celebrating the ordinations saying, “This is a joyous occasion for the Anglican Church in North America. We are blessed to bear witness to the Chaplaincies' continued growth, and we look forward to the way in which Christ will work through our newly ordained chaplains” The Deanery for the Chaplaincy is the canonical residence for priests and deacons who serve as Chaplains in ACNA through CANA (a jurisdiction of ACNA). ACNA is pleased to celebrate that
“the Deanery was established in October of 2007 beginning with one chaplain serving in the United States Army Within one year, the Anglican Church had 25 chaplains and later celebrated its 40th chaplain ordination in July 2009 The Deanery has more than doubled in size since that time.”

Forty percent of primates absent from Primates Meeting in Dublin
The Anglican Communion News Service (ACNS), official website of the Anglican Communion, reports that only 23 of 38 primates are attending the Primates Meeting in Dublin.

Over the last several weeks editorials and letters from conservative and liberal Anglican leaders around the world have been published regarding the abstentions of Global South primates and others from the once-every-two-year Meeting of the Primates taking place in Dublin this week. Some included pleas to the orthodox primates to attend the meeting, others showed sympathy for the decisions to not take part. The Global South primates, in a January 21, 2011 statement, expressed concerns about the lack of “intentional prior consultation and collegial engagement” in planning the meeting, particularly in the context of the “intractable miry situation” in the Communion They further said that
“Unless and until there is an unequivocal commitment to honour the agreed basis of Lambeth Resolution 1.10 and implement the decisions of previous Primates’ Meetings (2005, 2007, 2009) expressed in the respective Communiqués, especially that of Dar es Salem 2007”, meeting now would further erode the credibility of the Primates’ Meeting and it was “strenuous to expect any significant, meaningful, credible and constructive outcome of the Dublin Meeting.”

Canon Chris Sugden, a respected conservative leader in the Church of England, told Reuters that "There are only so many times you can appeal to people to turn up and make their voice heard" He also wrote in an article in Evangelicals Now, that the absence of so many from the Dublin meeting “calls into question the ability of the Archbishop of Canterbury to fulfill his role as gatherer of the Communion."

15 Primates did not attend the meeting this week:

The Church of the Province of the Indian Ocean The Most Revd Gerald James (Ian) Ernest
The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem & The Middle East The Most Revd  Mouneer Hanna Anis
The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) The Most Rt Revd Nicholas Dikeriehi Okoh
The Church of the Province of Uganda  The Most Revd Henry Luke Orombi
Church of the Province of South East Asia  The Most Revd John Chew
Iglesia Anglicana del Cono Sur de America The Most Revd Hector Zavala
The Church of the Province of West Africa The Most Revd Justice Ofei Akrofi
Province de L'Eglise Anglicane Du Congo The Most Revd Henry Kahwa Isingoma
La Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico The Most Revd Carlos Touche-Porter
The Church of the Province of Myanmar (Burma) The Most Revd Stephen Than Myint Oo
The Anglican Church of Kenya The Most Revd Eliud Wabukala
The Church of North India (United) The Most Revd Purely Lyngdoh
The Anglican Church of Tanzania The Most Revd Valentino Mokiwa
The Episcopal Church of the Sudan The Most Revd Daniel Deng Bul Yak
L'Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda The Most Revd Onesphore Rwaje

The Anglican Communion News Service reported that 7 primates officially stayed away due to concerns with TEC, while the other 8 were listed as having other reasonsHowever, an editorial written by the Anglican Communion Institute questioned the way in which the Secretary General and the Communion Office chose to present the reasons for the absences of some of the orthodox PrimatesRegarding the Primates who had earlier advised Archbishop Williams they would not attend the meeting if the Presiding Bishop of TEC were present, the editor wrote:
“Of the fourteen Primates who made this representation, it appears that only one will be attending any part of the meeting. In this light, the defensive explanations of why Primates are not attending offered by the Secretary General and the Communion Office (e.g. visa problems, diary conflicts, etc.) must raise eyebrows. Why should we think that those who publicly stated two months ago why they were not planning to attend now really wanted to come, but forgot they had another appointment?”

Virtue online reports that Archbishop Mouneer Anis of Jerusalem and the Middle East and Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, former Bishop of Rochester, have called for a conciliar meeting of orthodox primates to resolve the Anglican crisis.

The Church of England continues to lose members to Rome
In November 2010 five Anglican Bishops and three Anglican Religious Sisters were welcomed into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

An article in the New York Times said the Vatican upset many Anglicans, including the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 2009 when it created a new structure encouraging Anglicans to convert to Roman Catholicism because,
“it appeared to upend decades of interfaith dialogue by implying that the Roman Catholic Church sought to encourage the conversion of Anglicans, especially those uncomfortable with the Church of England’s ordination of women and openly gay priests.”

Father Keith Newton, a former CofE bishop recently ordained as a Catholic priest and the head of the Personal Ordinariate of England and Wales, was reported in the Telegraph UK as having said said “he hoped (Anglican) churches could be shared between the different congregations”, but London’s bishop the Rt Rev Richard Chartres was quoted in the same article saying there was “no possibility” and the Archbishop of Canterbury as having said “working out shared use of the buildings” would be a “challenge”.
