10 July 2011
The congregation of Saint Matthew’s, in a service of departure on Sunday, July 10th, left their long-time building and walked to Grace Church which has opened their building to the Saint Matthew’s congregation. The congregational walk to the new church was lead by the crucifer, the Rev Mike Stewart, rector of Saint Matthew’s carrying the Bible, Bishop’s Don Harvey, Stephen Leung and Ron Ferris, a number of vested clergy, Archbishop Lazar Puhalo of the Russian Orthodox Church, Father Michael Gillis of Holy Nativity (Antiochian) Orthodox Church, and other ecumenical supporters. The service continued at Grace Church with a capacity congregation of 450-500 people. Bishop Ron Ferris preached and Bishop Don Harvey presided at the Eucharist.
