Synod 2016 Workshop Day
Date: October 26 (Wednesday)
Time: 8am – 4:30pm (Registration at 8am-3:30pm and 6pm-7pm)
Topics and discussions will include:
1. How Biblical Churches Grow (including the questions the church asks in making strategic decisions, the "marks" of a Biblically functioning community/church and the call to be missional)
2. Resistance to Change Equation (How do we as a leadership overcome the battle and resistance to improvements and life-giving change?)
3. Demonstration and Evaluation of the Church Life Cycle (Answering the Question: Where is my parish on the Life Cycle?) Assess the 3 Primary Stages: Incline, Recline and Decline.
4. Align the Vision of the Church with God and His plan for our Great Commission Ministry - Begin the Vision Practicum and make a plan or defining Vision with key leaders
5. Overview of a "shift" in becoming an Outreach Focused Church
6. Realistic look at the church today - Acts 2:42-47 how has God designed my parish? What is it that we (my church) value most? Are we living/moving toward what we value as a church?
7. Start Now (today) with short-term goals (measurable) and a vision for how we will achieve our short-term goals.
