December 14-15 – ANiC Council meeting in Vancouver ...
ANiC's Council meets face-to-face several times over the course of the year, with other meetings conducted via conference call and electronically.


Fall Ordinations ...
On Sunday, September 13 at 3pm Bishop Trevor Walters will ordain the Rev Roger Revelle to the priesthood at St Peter's Fireside, Vancouver, BC. See the St Peter’s Fireside website for more information.

On Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm, David Pennylegion will be ordained by Bishop Charlie Masters at Grace Church, 325 Church Lane, Edgeworth, PA. Archbishop Bob Duncan will preach. A reception is to follow. David will be licenced to minister in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, at Grace Church, while he is attending Trinity School for Ministry in nearby Amherst, PA.

On October 4, 3pm
Chris Ley will be ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Stephen Leung at Good Shepherd (Vancouver, BC). Chris will serve as curate at St Matthias and St Luke’s (Vancouver) focusing on youth, children, young adults and English ministries.

On Sunday, November 29 at 11:15am, Bishop Charlie will ordain the Rev George Cooknell to the priesthood at Cornerstone (Sarnia, ON). A lunch will immediately follow the service.

On Sunday, December 13, 7 pm, Bishop Trevor will ordain Danielle Martell to the diaconate at Saviour Lutheran Church, 4737 57th Street, Delta, BC. See map.



November 8 – International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church ...
It is estimated that, on average, a Christian is martyred for his/her faith every five minutes. For information and free resources to help mobilize your church to pray, see the website: www.idop.ca.


October 20-23 – Synod 2015 in Vancouver ...
Synod 2015 will be held at Good Shepherd Vancouver on October 20-23. Clergy day is Tuesday, October 20, followed by a full-day of workshops for both laity and clergy on Wednesday, October 21. Synod begins Wednesday evening, October 21 at 7pm with the opening Eucharist and Charge from our Bishop. Synod continues through Friday, October 23, concluding at 3pm following the final key note address. See Synod 2015 information page.


October 17 – Southern Ontario ladies gathering ...
Saturday, October 17 from 9:30am to 2pm, St George's (Burlington, ON) is hosting the ANiC Regional Women's Fall Day Apart in Southern Ontario. The gathering will be in St George’s lovely new building at 4691 Palladium Way, Burlington. The speaker, Monica Harper, will discuss the theme “Being the hands and feet of Jesus”. The cost of $25 includes lunch. You can register on the St George’s website.


October 16-17 – ACNA conference, "The battle for the family" ...
Canon David Roseberry discusses the centrality of family to God’s Story and why it is to be nurtured and cherished, especially now that it is under siege as never before. An Anglican Family Symposium is planned for October 16-17 at Christ Church (Plano, TX).


October 16-17 – AMMiC conference planned ...
AMMiC is spearheading a third conference on the issue of relationships between first and second generation Asians in North America. The conference is expected to be held October 16-17, most likely at Regent College. As with previous conferences, an inter-denominational, inter-generational pastoral team is planning the event. AMMiC will publish an English journal of the past two conference proceedings, called, “Looking Back, Looking Forward: Dialogue”. It will highlight the growth among North American Asian Christians.” This will come out in June.


October 15-17 – Symposium on family catechesis, Plano, TX ...
Registration is now open for the Anglican Family Symposium, October 15-17 at Christ Church, Plano, TX. This highly interactive conference seeks to gather clergy, church leaders and catechists to focus on renewing the family as the primary means of catechism and Christian formation. October 3-5 – Healing workshop coming to Toronto area ...
On October 3-5 (Saturday – Monday), the Rev Dr Russ Parker – an author, teacher and subject matter expert – will be at New Song (Port Perry, ON) offering workshops and speaking on healing-related topics include: Healing Dreams (October 3), Why Jesus Speaks to Churches (October 4, am), the Healing Journey (October 4, pm), and Healing Wounded Congregations & Leaders (October 5 full day). The October 5 workshop will be of particular benefit to our church leaders and clergy and as many as possible are encouraged to attend. Watch the church website for more details. October 4 – New rector installed at Christ The King (Toronto, ON)
Christ The King will hold a service of institution and induction for its new rector, the Rev Keith Ganzer on October 4 at 4pm – followed by a reception. All are most welcome to come and celebrate with Christ The King. See the invitation for details. Please join us in praying that God will use this parish to proclaim the Good News to Canada’s largest city.


September 27 – AMMiC’s annual fundraising dinner ...
AMMiC will hold its 2015 fundraising dinner on September 27 at Good Shepherd (Vancouver). The reception starts at 5pm. If you would like to attend this worthwhile event, please RSVP by email.


September 25-26 – Ontario men’s gathering, “Band of Brothers” ...
St Luke’s (Pembroke, ON) is hosting the next Band of Brothers event, September, 25-26 (Friday 7pm through Saturday 4pm) at 307 Julien St. Pembroke. The Revs Garth Hunt and Brian McVitty are speaking. Registration is only $20 and includes breakfast and a light lunch Saturday. To register simply email or phone the church and leave your name and the number of people you are registering. (Contact information is on the church website) You can pay when you arrive.


September 2-4 – Youth Leadership Conference in Vancouver ...
The Vancouver Youth Leadership Conference, organized annually by St John’s Vancouver, is dedicated to equipping leaders in youth ministry as well as those interested in Christian leadership. It is for those in grade 11 and up and costs only $35 per person. It will be held at Good Shepherd Vancouver, 189 West 11 Ave. Learn more.


August 21-September 3 – Mission Trip to Thailand ...
A missions trip to Thailand is planned for late summer. AMMiC and Good Shepherd (Vancouver, BC) are organizing the trip in partnership with the Anglican Church in Thailand (Diocese of Singapore) and the Karen Anglican Ministry at the Border. Tentative dates are August 21 (Friday) through September 3 (Thursday). Everyone interested in serving in a cross-cultural setting in South East Asia are most welcome to join the team. Upcoming ordinations ...
July 19 at 4pm - Bishop Charlie Masters will ordain the Rev Mark Story, to the priesthood at St Aidan’s (Windsor, ON). The Rev Story is a retired Lutheran pastor from the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. He will serve as honourary priest associate focused on evangelism. A potluck reception will follow the service. All are welcome!


July 13-17 – International Catholic Congress of Anglicans, Fort Worth, TX ...
Bishop Bill Atwood has written an engaging article offering a historical perspective and encouraging us all to attend the International Catholic Congress of Anglicans, July 13-17 in Fort Worth., TX.

He writes: “Now, a great opportunity has arisen to build up the body and build bridges among the faithful… [This conference] is not just a gathering for those who self-identify as Anglo-Catholics. It is for all orthodox Anglicans who see the importance of working together. It’s also a great opportunity for evangelical and charismatic Anglicans to see how much we share. In fact, what they will see is that many of us in the realignment drink from all three streams… My expectation is that this is going to be a gathering of great strategic importance for the good of God’s Kingdom and the future of Anglicanism.”



June 25 – Clergy & spouses invited ...
On the evening of June 25 (Thursday) Regent College is hosting Evening Prayers and a reception for the ACNA College of Bishops. Archbishop Foley Beach is expected to address the topic of caring for clergy and their families. ANiC clergy and spouses in the area are invited to join the Bishops for this evening at Regent! But you must RSVP to the ANIC office as soon as possible.


June 22-26 – ACNA Provincial meetings in Vancouver ...
The governing bodies of the Anglican Church in North America will gather in Vancouver June 22-26. The week will include meetings of the Executive Committee, the Provincial Council, and the College of Bishops. Visitors and observers are welcome to attend sessions of the Provincial Council which are open. Registration is required as space is limited. The Council meetings conclude on June 25 with a reception and Eucharist at ANiC’s Church of the Good Shepherd.

June 7 – Bishop Trevor Walters ordained the Revs Alvan Lewis and Ken Light to the diaconate on June 7 at Resurrection Anglican Church (Kelowna, BC).


May 29-30 – Holy Trinity co-hosts Holy Spirit Conference in Marlborough, MA ...
ANiC’s Holy Trinity (Marlborough, MA) is joining forces with a local Pentecostal church to put on an ecumenical conference which will focus on the presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit in both the traditional and contemporary Christian Church – and through the lenses of both the Anglican and Pentecostal traditions. “The Anglican and Pentecostal traditions are not mutually exclusive, but are often complimentary,” says Archdeacon Michael McKinnon. “There is much that Christians of all denominations can learn from these two traditions, and there is much we can learn from one another as we grow in the Truth of the Gospel.

May 14 – March for Life 2015 ...
ANiC had a strong showing at the 2015 March for Life in Ottawa. For more information, see the March for Life website or contact Anglicans for Life Canada. The Rev Michelle Terwilleger has kindly provided a summary of Daniel Gilman's keynote address, at the Anglicans for Life gathering, related to the Christian response to euthanasia.

The Rev Richard and Jenny Richards are organizing Anglicans for Life Canada participation in the BC edition of the annual March for Life, held in Victoria, May 14. Dr Will Johnston from Canadian Physicians for Life and an active member of St John's Vancouver was recently confirmed as one of the speakers at the March in Victoria.

If you are in BC, plan to participate. Richard+ hopes to coordinate transportation for participants from the Lower Mainland. For information and to confirm your participation, please email Richard+. May 11-14 – ANiC's western clergy and spouse retreat ...
Clergy and their spouses are invited to enjoy a retreat at Young Life’s spectacular Malibu Camp on Princess Louisa Inlet. You will experience solid Bible teaching together with worship, physical rest, spiritual refreshment and enriching fellowship. We want to strengthen and encourage one another in our ministry and refocus on our Christ-ordained, Kingdom-advancing mission. Plan to attend! April 30 - May 15 – Simeon Trust Bible exposition workshops ...
Simeon Trust offers excellent workshops! If you are responsible for preaching or teaching the Word of God, you’ll want to find the workshop nearest you and plan to attend. Although many locations and dates are offered, the following workshops are in Canada. Check here for details.

May 7 – Clergy Day event in Ottawa ...
ANiC clergy and church leaders are invited to “Pastors in Perspective: Nurturing our inner persons”, May 7, 9:30-3:30pm at Kanata Baptist, 465 Hazeldean Rd, Kanata, ON. The conference is sponsored by Ryle Theological College and in designed to refresh and encourage attendees in their ministries. The speaker is Dr Michael Haykin, a seminary professor and author – including a recent book on the church fathers. For more information see the flyer.


May 3 – Sanctity of Life Sunday ...
The first Sunday in May is Sanctity of Life Sunday. All ANiC congregations are asked to mark this Sunday. At Synod 2014, a series of resolutions were approved related to pro-life matters, including Motion 10, part 5 which says, “Therefore be it resolved that: All ANiC parishes be… Encouraged to include a 'Sanctity of Life Sunday' worship service yearly, on the first Sunday of May”.


May 2 – Women's Day in Toronto-area ...
A spring ANiC Women's Day event is planned for the GTA, hosted by Celebration Church, on Saturday, May 2. The venue is the Ferndale Banquet Hall, 24 Ferndale Industrial Dr, Barrie, ON. The speaker, Pastor Kathleen Greidanus, will address the topic, "Who do you say that I am?". The event will also feature music, flag worship, breakfast and lunch, and warm fellowship. Cost is $25. Pre-registration is required; register by emailing Heather Kendry. Each congregation is invited to bring a tri-fold picture display depicting their church's ministries. See invitation. April 21-23 – Silent retreat for clergy ...
At a retreat centre near Orangeville, Bishop Charlie Masters will lead a silent retreat for clergy on the theme "Faithful is he who calls" (1 Thessalonians 5: 24). See the poster for full information.

January 25 – The Rev Roger Revelle will be ordained by Bishop Ron Ferris at St Peter Fireside (Vancouver, BC). Please keep Roger+ in your prayers.

January 28, 7pm – Isaac Albert Fisher will be ordained to the transitional diaconate and Praveen Mutalik to the vocational diaconate by Bishop Charlie at Holy Trinity (Marlborough, MA). Isaac will serve at St Brigid of Kildare (Medway, MA) while Praveen will serve at Holy Trinity.

February 15 – The Rev Alexander Pryor will be ordained to the priesthood at Good Samaritan (St John’s, NL).


March 8, 11am – Esther Ann Beaulieu is to be ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Stephen Leung at Redeemer (Dauphin, MB). Esther will be engaged in ministry to First Nations and Metis peoples in the Dauphin area. The ordination service will bring together the congregations of Redeemer (Dauphin), Resurrection (Brandon) and St Bede’s (Kinosota). See photos.

March 15, 4pmThe Rev Jonathan Ellis, curate and youth and family minister at Ascension (Langley, BC) and Ka Hyun MacKensie Shin are to be ordained as priests by Bishop Trevor Walters. The service will be held in Milner Chapel, 6716 - 216 St, Langley, near the junction of Hwy 10 and Glover Road. See the photos.

March 22, 10amJeremy Graham, who with his wife Kimberley leads ANiC’s ministry priority “Loving Children”, will be ordained to the diaconate at St John’s Vancouver.


April 25, 2pm The Rev Adebusola (Buzz) Onayemi, who serves at Celebration Church (Barrie, ON), will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Charlie Masters. The service will take place at Inniswood Campus, 460 Yonge St, Barrie. Clergy are invited to robe; the stole colour is white. Vesting clergy should arrive by 1:20pm.


March 3-4 – Bishops and archdeacons consider clergy care ...
ANiC’s bishops, archdeacons and dean are meeting in Vancouver on March 3-4 to pray about and discuss how to better care for our clergy and their families. Please prayer for wisdom and insight.


February – Mission trip to Cuba planned ...
Another mission trip to Cuba to visit Reformed Episcopal Church plants is planned for February 2015 and we would love to have pastors and/or lay leaders from three or more ANiC congregations go to Cuba to see what God is doing and prayerfully consider how their congregations can become involved.

If you are interested, please contact the Rev Barclay Mayo. Much more information is here including a new five-minute slide show of the various REC churches and ministries in Cuba – which you can watch online or download as a zip file.

A number of ANiC congregations have formed partnerships with these Cuban congregations and we hope to have commitments from three or four more before the end of this year. Also one ANiC congregation – Saint Matthew’s (Abbotsford, BC) – has graciously taken on sponsorship of the REC seminary in Cuba – which graduated its first three pastors last May!



February 28 – Vancouver women’s conference ...
The 2015 Liveword Vancouver conference on February 28 will focus on “wisdom literature” found in both the Old and New Testaments – including the book of Proverbs, The speakers are Polly Long and Mariam Kamell, both instructors at Regent College. Liveword Vancouver was founded to “reach women with biblical expository teaching, for the purpose of helping to grow us to maturity in Christ”. February 24-25 – Southern Ontario clergy retreat ...
A southern Ontario clergy event is slated for February 24-25 at a retreat centre near Orangeville, ON.  The speaker is the Rev Keith Ganzer who will focus on the theme “Ministers of a New Covenant” taken from 2 Corinthians 2:12- 4:18.  Keith+ will also discuss the process of sermon preparation.
