Videos from Israel with the Rev Jess Cantelon
Bishop Charlie Masters has commissioned the Rev Jess Cantelon to produce a series of short 5-minute videos based on the Jewish Torah. Jess+ describes the Israel Video Project as “a selfie-stick adventure through the Holy Land” – opening up the Bible with Jewish insight. He will be preparing these teaching videos through the end of April 2016.
The first episode of this 10-week series is now available. It provides great teaching for all of us as individually and for showing to our congregations.
The videos are roughly 5-minutes long, making them usable for church services, or simply watching as individuals at home or in small group times. You are strongly encouraged to make use of this amazing resource in your churches.
You can learn more about the project here: www.israelvideoproject.com

Episode 10 – "Achron Shel Pesach" (The last of the Passover) –
Deut 14:22 - 16:17
During the Passover, Jewish people look back and look forward. They believe you can't have the Passover without Pentecost.
The point of the Passover was not so much deliverance from Egypt as becoming the people of God, as Israel was brought into relationship with God at Sinai. We too, as Christians, were set free to be brought into the family of God - a family that is intended to grow.

Episode 6 – Shmini "Eight" (from Leviticus 9:1-11:47)
Why is the number 8 important and what does it mean and what does it have to do with "strange fire"? Why do so many important events - including the resurrection of Christ - happen on the 8th day? Jess+ explains. |
|
Episode 5 – Tzav "Command" (from Leviticus 6:1 - 8:36)
Anointing was seen as the imparting of spiritual authority and of the Holy Spirit. During this Holy Week, we focus on the Messiah, or the Anointed One, who is both our High Priest and King. |
|
Episode 4 – Vayikra "And He called" (from Leviticus 1-5)
